Traffic law explained clearly
What to do after a road traffic accident?
Secure the accident scene, document damage and those involved, and do not give any admission of fault. After an accident that was not your fault, you are entitled to reimbursement of your costs – including your own lawyer, paid for by the other party's insurer.
Who pays for the lawyer after an accident that was not your fault?
In the case of a road traffic accident that was not your fault, legal costs are part of the recoverable damages. They are generally covered by the liability insurer of the party responsible for the accident.
Is it worth appealing against a fine notice?
Often, yes. Measurement errors, formal defects or procedural flaws can lead to the case being dropped. The appeal must be lodged within two weeks of service. We will review your notice and its prospects of success.
Should I commission an expert report?
For damages above the minor threshold, you have the right to choose your own expert. An independent report secures the amount of your claim. We will advise you on the correct approach.
