Family law explained clearly
How does a divorce proceed?
As a rule, a divorce requires a year of separation. Afterwards, one spouse files the divorce application with the family court through a lawyer. At the court hearing, the divorce is pronounced – often together with the pension rights adjustment. We accompany you throughout the entire process.
Who pays how much maintenance?
The amount of child and spousal maintenance depends on income, need and capacity to pay. The Düsseldorf Table serves as a guideline for child maintenance. We calculate your entitlement and enforce it – or defend against excessive claims.
What does equalisation of accrued gains mean?
In a divorce under the statutory property regime, the increase in assets accumulated during the marriage is equalised between the spouses. We determine the claims and represent you in the settlement.
Do we both need a lawyer?
Legal representation is required for filing the divorce application. In the case of an uncontested divorce, it is often sufficient for only one spouse to be represented by a lawyer. We will discuss with you what makes sense in your case.
Let us speak confidentially about your situation.
The first step is often the hardest. We listen and show you your options.
